This is how our web site is organized:

  • About the Orange County Flood Control Division (this section) - Here you will find an overview of the Division's organizational structure, function, goals, accomplishments and contacts.

  • Santa Ana River Project - The Santa Ana River Mainstem Project (SARP) was authorized by Congress in 1986 in order to provide flood protection to the growing urban communities in Orange, Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. In this section you will find a historical account of flooding in the Santa Ana River drainage area and an overview of the County's largest public works project including major features such as the Seven Oaks Dam, Prado Dam, the Lower Santa Ana River and Project implementation.

  • Neighborhood Flood Control - Do you live in a Flood Zone? Here we will provide you several ways to determine if you live in a Flood Zone, provide information about the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and explain how to interpret the terms and symbols found in a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) .

You will learn about the process the Flood Control Division, on behalf of the Orange County Flood Control District (OCFCD), has established to program and construct flood control improvements in your neighborhood. You can also learn about the Capital Improvement Program, current and recently completed flood control construction projects and water quality projects.

  • Flood Safety and Education - This section provides information on what you can do to protect your property and family before, during, and after a flood. You can also find a list of Emergency Information telephone numbers that you can call if you see alarming conditions in a flood control facility. We also provided Flood Watch Links that can link you to weather-related sites including local weather radar images, flood warnings, the National Weather Service, and Orange County rainfall data.
