Project Information

The 2.1 mile reach of Huntington Beach Channel (Facility No. D01) from Magnolia Street to Indianapolis Avenue is a rectangular channel with vertical steel sheet pile lining. The current project will install a cathodic protection (CP) system that will aid in extending the life of the steel sheet piles and protecting them from its corrosive environment. The CP system consists of 716 aluminum galvanic anodes which will be laid along the channel invert at 23-29 foot intervals. 27 monitoring test stations will also be installed on either side of the channel.

The project was recently advertised and bids opened on May 25, 2005. The apparent low bidder is Denboer Engineering and Construction with $1,199,240.00.
