Project Information
The channel has experienced lining failures and overtopping during recent years.
The proposed project will increase channel conveyance capacity for a 100-year storm
event. To accomplish this, the existing trapezoidal channel will be replaced with
a vertical wall rectangular channel that will be constructed within the existing
right-of-way.
FEMA through their Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) has committed $3.12 million
dollars towards the design and construction of the improvements. The balance of
the estimated $8.8 million cost for construction is to be funded by the Orange County
Flood Control District (OCFCD).
